Reports have been buzzing about all of the "phenomenal" and "sensational" guest stars for this (third) season of 30 Rock starting on October 30, and I have to agree that at least they got the latter part right. Alone, Jennifer Aniston, Oprah, or the Gossip girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are tolerable, but having them all appear within just a few episodes? For a show that used to rely on its witty dialogue, quirky characters, and boasting a supporting cast of unknowns, it's really quite sad to seem them resort to banking on the big names to draw in the big numbers. And I really can't even comment on the attempt at attracting the teens with those monotone Barbies. Is it too early to call the jumping of the shark?
