Back in February 2010, Korbi Ghosh from Zap2It posted an edition of her infamous "Drinking with the Stars" column featuring Life Unexpected's Kerr Smith (Ryan). Series star Kristoffer Polaha (Baze) caught wind of the special interview scenario, and I believe his exact response was "Why does Kerr get to have all the fun?" Or something like that. So I half-jokingly pitched him an idea called "Baking with Baze" as a counter-interview (I don't drink, after all), which while well-intentioned, proved to require too much work. Instead, though, we pow-wowed and came up with something that I think is even better, and "My Life, Made Possible by Pop Culture" hopes to continue the column in the future: Wii with the Stars!!
So a few days ago, Polaha and I got together to shoot the very first installment. Considering my Wii sessions of the past have gotten so intense I once thought I gave my dog a concussion, I was admittedly a little nervous about how this would go. But I am a firm believer in the psychiatric theory that if you want someone to speak honestly and openly, sometimes it helps to have the conversation while they are distracted by another task (driving, playing a board game, kicking your ass in virtual bowling...). Polaha is a pretty open guy as it is, and I didn't necessarily need the game to get him to spill...but it was most definitely a fun afternoon anyway! I hope you enjoy it, as well. Here we discuss man caves, Life Unexpected season two, and we debut an exclusive, extra special artistic side to Polaha-- a side which hopefully will find its way onto the show soon!
And be sure to tune into Life Unexpected's first season finale on Monday, April 12 at 8pm. You have until then to enter to win the autographed Team Baze tee, as well!
