You may be wondering what the hell has happened to this site in the past few days. While so many other blogs and Twitter/Facebook feeds have been counting down to the return of The CW's "little show with a lotta heart," Life Unexpected, My Life, Made Possible by Pop Culture has been relatively quiet.
"What's the matter with her?" You may have asked. "Doesn't she love them anymore? Doesn't she relate the way she did last season?"
Of course I do! As series star Kristoffer Polaha says, "It's a really human story, and I think that's why so many people have connected to it the way they have."
The problem-- well, not really a problem, per se, but the thing-- is that the bulk of my coverage is going up over at Examiner because...well, because they pay me! And I need to keep cupcakes on the table. And for boring legal reasons (like copyright issues), I can't simply copy and paste the interviews and reviews here.
So instead I will be linking!
- "My How You've Grown" (My season two premiere, "Ocean Uncharted," advance review WITH SPOILERS)
- "She Makes You Laugh; She Makes You Cry; She Spills Secrets!" (My season two premiere interview with Liz Tigelaar)
- "Kristoffer Polaha: Helping Life Unexpected Blow The "F***ing Pants" Off Tuesday Nights" (My season two premiere interview with Kristoffer Polaha
I could not be more proud of this show and how it has taken off since the pilot episode. Season one brought tons of tears, lots of laughter, and all kinds of warm and fuzzies, and season two will be no different. In fact, again as Polaha says, "The main difference between season one and season two is the scope and size is now huge." With more characters in play, Cate and Baze and Ryan and Lux' little world has opened up exponentially, leaving room for more drama, more wacky antics, and stronger relationships.
I encourage all of you to subscribe to my Examiner page so you can get headlines about Life Unexpected (and other great shows) delivered to your inbox as they go live on the site. As of right now, I have three more features planned for the next two episodes, and at least one more coming during the cross-over.
As you know by now, this site is reserved for shows, characters, and talent who have influenced and affected me personally in one way or another, so yes, I do plan to continue writing about Life Unexpected here, too, as the season goes on. Because you all know how much this show has influenced and affected me!
