Pre-'Supernatural' Saturday: An Award for Jared?...

The TV Guide Fan Favorites magazine cover has officially hit stands, but even though Supernatural's Jared Padalecki was featured on the cover and in the behind-the-scenes video because the show won Favorite Sci-Fi Series, he did not get an individual award of his own. Both Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins walked away with lucite awards for their acting skills, winning Favorite Actor and Favorite Nonhuman, respectively, and following those wins with another for Ackles in E! Online's Alpha Male Madness poll, well, needless to say feelings may have been a little hurt.

But thanks to the power of fandom, Padalecki is up for a very special award of his own. There is no competition other than what to call the award and engrave on it, and for that, you can have your voice heard here. The award was created to celebrate Padalecki's own talents, which passed all kinds of new tests this season with the introduction of NoSoulSam, and it will be presented to him during Creation Entertainment's "Salute to Supernatural" convention in Nashville during the first weekend in June. Made Possible by Pop Culture will not be on-hand at that convention, so we expect you all to Tweet us lots of photos of the festivities!

It's certainly an interesting question: if you could give your favorite actor any award, and by proxy any new title as the "Best" or "Most" or "Favorite" whatever, what would it be?

It's a totally sweet gesture, but I can't help to point out what everyone is failing to mention here-- or rather who everyone is failing to mention here: Jim Beaver! He is the father figure on the show; he is the voice of reason; and he is the smartest character! He is so often the source of comic relief, but in his short time on-screen he always manages to break your heart a little, too. In the best possible way. He deserves some more recognition, too!

Rome was not built in a day - Jim Beaver is awesome - but to put this idea into context it was merely some fans mentioning how the award for JA and MC were great and for the show, but JP is not as recognised. So yes, we appreciate JB but JP has been at the forefront of some absolutely awesome episodes. If you're angling for JB brilliant, that's where ideas start :) Jac

I think Jared is a big boy and doesn't need a consolation prize. Besides, just because he hasn't won an individual award yet doesn't mean he never will.

Carol, you're completely missing the point here.

I love this and I'm going to be a part of it and be at Nashville, so I can't wait to see what his reaction to it will be. It's just an appreciation of his work from us fans and he deserves it. I don't view it as a consolation prize in the least.

Yes, I think Sharon is right Jared is a very talented guy he has personify a lot of roles in Supernatural he has been the good Sammy, soulless Sam, Lucifer, demon Meg, an addict to demon blood, etc etc, and I think he deserves to be recognized too for the amazing work he had done with the characters he had played on supernatural, but at the same time I think Carol have a point here,, I suppose they know but still I am going to say it: Please the people that is going to give the award to Jared make sure doesn't sound like a consolation prize.
I think what the fans are doing is really sweet and I totally support their project.
