ABC TCA Talk: 'Happy Endings', 'Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23', Nashville', '666 Park Avenue'; 'How To Live with Your Parents', and 'Last Resort'...

The last time we caught up with Happy Endings creator David Caspe, he told us that he wasn't looking to make a show about one relationship, and so he was keeping his characters from constantly hooking up with each other. Well, we're sure he had the best of intentions, but let's face it: Dave (Zachary Knighton) and Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) have such a history, and such chemistry, it may have only been a matter of time before they got back together on-screen. That happened in the season finale, when they held hands at Derek's (Stephen Guarino) wedding, but Caspe has confirmed that will be taken even farther when the show returns for season three this fall... "James Van Der Beek explains the evolution of Don't Trust The B---- in Apt 23"

ABC half-hour Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 is part of the network's "inappropriate" comedy line-up, and due to show creator Nahnatchka Khan's sharp wit and actors like James Van Der Beek's commitment, it manages to take some pretty broad concepts and keep them grounded enough to make the audience wish they could exist in reality.... "Nashville celebrates strong, Southern women Callie Khouri & Connie Britton"

Nashville may just be ABC's Country Strong version of Smash, and we say that in the most positive way possible. It is a show that may be set in the entertainment industry, but it plans to use that setting as a backdrop, not a plot-driving force. The plot will instead be driven by the characters' emotional arcs, making it a relationship drama at its core... [MORE

"Serial supernatural soap 666 Park Avenue scoop from series EP David Wilcox"

666 Park Avenue is ABC's jaunt into the horror genre. But partially because it is a broadcast network, and partially because it was not of the interest of the executive producers, the show is not going to rely on shock value or gore to draw, thrill, or scare its audience from week to week. Instead, EP David Wilcox promised today at ABC's TCA presentation in Los Angeles that what we will be getting is a "very scary, supernatural, character-driven soap"... [MORE

"Claudia Lonow admits How to Live with Your Parents is her TV autobiography"

Claudia Lonow's new ABC family half-hour How To Live with Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) is an autobiographical tale, she admitted to critics during the ABC TCA presentation in Los Angeles earlier today... [MORE]

"Shawn Ryan unravels Last Resort"

Shawn Ryan is an ambitious showrunner, and his new ABC drama is inarguably the most ambitious show on television come fall. Last Resort centers on a submarine that receives an order the captain questions and decides to ignore it. In response, the Navy actually has one of its other submarines attempt to take it out, causing the ship's crew to come together to beach themselves on an island they take over while they try to figure out how to go home when "home" may not want them anymore...
