Danielle and Marisa Have Thoughts...About Fall TV: Disappointing Drama Edition...

Continuing on with our Fall 2012 snap judgements, it didn't take long for vodcasting to take a turn towards the shows that disappointed us. What can I say? Snark and bitterness come easily. If you don't believe me, just look at Gawker. That's pretty much all they do, and they have built a whole organization based on it.

I genuinely love television, which is why it pains me to see shows fail in my mind. Even shows with concepts that are less than revolutionary have the potential to execute themselves in a unique and exciting way, and when they don't...well, I just get (sometimes irrationally) mad that these shows are on air, dumbing down America, while mine are still sitting in FDR documents on old hard drives.

Please note, the dramas discussed here are not ones we think are unconscionably bad or irredeemable, mind you, but instead they are the pilots for which we had higher hopes and were therefore crushed when we saw the actual product. In a way, that's even worse than if they were just flat-out bad from idea to production, script to screen-- even if maybe "crushed" might still be a bit strong...

Are you looking forward to Revolution, Emily Owens M.D., and/or Vegas? Have we talked you out of that now? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
