Primetime Holiday Highlights - 'American Giving Awards', 'Holly's Holiday', '12 Disasters of Christmas'...

For Saturday, December 8th 2012 I recommend the following holiday programming:

The American Giving Awards (NBC, 8 p.m.) – Live from Pasadena, CA, Joel McHale hosts the second annual gala in which community and charity is celebrated.

Come Dance With Me (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) – Jack (Andrew McCarthy) is an executive in a financial brokerage firm trying to impress the firm’s president, Drew Clayton (Chris Gillett), in hopes of a promotion. However, Jack is dating the fabulously rich and elegant Demi Clayton (Stephanie Mills), who happens to be Drew’s daughter. Although Demi’s mother Clarisse (Jane Moffat) doesn’t necessarily approve of Jack and would prefer her daughter to date a man within their social circle, Jack still plans on proposing. Trying to create the perfect proposal, Jack signs up for dance lessons in preparation for his proposal to Demi at her father’s lavish annual Christmas Dance. But when sparks start to fly between Jack and his dance instructor, Christine (Michelle Nolden), Jack will have to make some important decisions before it is too late.

Holly’s Holiday (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) – Advertising executive Holly (Claire Coffee) can’t quite imagine why she is so drawn to the handsome mannequin in the perfect holiday window display she passes every morning. When she is knocked unconscious by a falling icicle, her once fake window man becomes the man of her dreams, but she soon discovers that though his looks are perfect, his personality is still, well, plastic.

12 Disasters of Christmas (Syfy, 9 p.m.) – Mysterious disasters connected to the Mayan predication as well as the iconic holiday song “12 Days of Christmas” are systematically destroying a small town and spreading throughout the world. A father (Ed Quinn) learns that this daughter (Magda Aponowicz) is the “Chosen One” who can stop further catastrophe—if he can stave off the lunatic townspeople blaming her for their community’s destruction first.

What will you watch??
