The CW Pilot Pick-Ups: 'The 100', 'Reign', 'Star-Crossed', 'Tomorrow People'...




The CW is going a bit darker next television season, looking at almost one hundred years after a nuclear war destroyed civilization in new drama pilot The 100. But the title does not refer to the time that has passed but instead to the select people who will be sent back to Earth to investigate the possibility of re-habilitating it. Sound intriguing yet? The CW is taking on history with a new drama for the 2013-2014 television season based on Mary Queen of Scots' rise to power. Yes, we're serious. Reign tells the "previously unknown and therefore untold" story as Mary arrives in France as a fifteen year old girl, betrothed to Prince Francis, with her three best friends as ladies-in-waiting. The show will explore the "secret history" of survival at French Court amid fierces foes, dark forces, and a world of sexual intrigue. The CW knows a good thing when they see it, and they know keeping Julie Plec and the Amells in the family is a very good thing. So in addition to renewing The Vampire Diaries and Arrow-- not to mention picking up TVD spin-off The Originals, they have also given the series order for Tomorrow People... [MORE]
